Since Fulham have been very close to the play-off places this season, manager Jokanovic is very keen on maintaining the momentum. The result is at least positive in the fact that it did not allow the field Wednesday to leapfrog Fulham in the Championship.

Both teams remain level with 25 points with only two points separating them from the final play-off spot, which is occupied by Norwich City. Jokanovic was disappointed with the lacklustre start made by his team, as he felt that it was the main reason behind Sheffield Wednesday grabbing an early advantage.

The manager admitted that the only team looked more likely to be in the three points and that it was only because of a moment of magic that his team secure a point. Still, he was able to see a lot of improvement in the team compared to last season. Fulham were near the relegation zones last season.

“We are unhappy at the end because in the last five minutes we could have scored a second goal to win the game. But to be honest, we didn’t play very well.We didn’t offer our best performance but on the other hand I am very satisfied with some parts of the game, we didn’t surrender in any moment. They played a better football game today. They were closer than us to winning three points. But if we played this game last season we’d have lost 3-0 or something,” said Jokanovic.

Jokanovic dismisses rumours of him quitting

A few weeks ago it was rumoured that Slavisa Jokanovic was going to step down from coaching Fulham after becoming frustrated from missing out on a number of summer transfer targets and this was due to the owner of the English League Championship club, Shahid Khan refusing to dish out the cash and go ahead to sign the players that were in the watch-list of Slavisa Jokanovic.

It seems like none of that was actually true as the Serbian head coach has recently came out and shut down those rumors as he has no intention to step down anytime soon.

It seems like none of that was actually true as the Serbian head coach has recently came out and shut down those rumors as he has no intention to step down anytime soon.

The 48 year old Serbian manager said: “I never have had any plans to leave Fulham. If I complain about something it’s because I want the best for my team, for my team-mates, for the supporters as well.

“I was very clear and I explained it on Saturday what my opinion was on this situation. I’m still in the same position. I believe we need more players to be stronger in the future. It depends on what our target is in the future. Manchester United and Manchester City buy new players. If I arrive with less ambition, I want to be successful and if I am it’s good for the club and the supporters.”

When Slavisa Jokanovic took charge of Fulham on December 27 2015, he was able to avoid relegation with the club by just barely escaping the bottom zone and immediately after accomplishing this task, the Serbian manager went on to say that he is aiming to push Fulham to a top 6 in the English League Championship in this current season.

For a manager that has been so eager to propel Fulham back to the top of the English League and away from the dreadful relegation zone, it’s hard to believe that he would have any desire to leave the club anytime soon Slavisa Jokanovic himself confirmed that everything linking him with a move away from Craven Cottage was false.
