MURPHY SIGNS CONTRACT

Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club till 2012. Murphy, 33, joined the Cottagers from Spurs in 2007 and his goal against Portsmouth kept Fulham in the Premier League on goal difference in 2008.

The midfielder was made club captain in 2009 and led the west Londoners to the Europa League final in 2010.

He said: "It is a great source of pride for me to have played a role in some truly historic moments for Fulham FC."
