Kit Symons has not ruled out the possibility of more new signings
Fulham manager Kit Symons has not ruled out the possibility of more new signings just two weeks before the start of the new season.
The club are in urgent need of a return to the Premier League. After flirting with relegation since their return to the Championship, the club are building a base upon the ideas ofSymons. He has been given substantial backing in the transfer window so far. Fulham have brought in five players including the likes of Jamie O’Hara and Tom Cairney. Rather than requesting the owners to provide more funds,Symons has sold players like Patrick Roberts in order to raise the funds.
After positive set of results in their pre-season friendly matches up until now, Fulham appear to be in good shape going into the start of the new season. They have an away game against Cardiff City on the opening game of the season. Roberts was one of the exciting players at Fulham, but his sale to Manchester City led to an increase in the transfer coffins. His sale is expected to have fetched around £ 11 million and most of this figure is expected to be reinvested in the squad. Fulham have been left extremely happy to have received such an offer for an 18-year-old.
"We're hopeful for another couple of players so we're looking and we're talking to people. You never know so I wouldn't count our chickens. We're looking all over the pitch as we want to be strong in all areas. I want real quality in every position because it's a long, tough season," said the Fulham manager. The upcoming two friendly matches will represent the last opportunity for Symons to test out his new players before the start of the campaign. The games are against Frankfurt and Crystal Palace.
