KALAS TO GET NEW EMPLOYER THIS SUMMER

Tomas Kalas is likely to get a new employer this summer as his deal with Chelsea enters its final year.

The 24-year old must decide what next for his career. Either he establishes himself at the club or he goes out in self-development as time waits for no man.

Hull City are reportedly in contact for his services. Standard Sport says the new Hull City coach Leonid Slutsky is hoping to get the Czech international to boost the ranks. With the relegation of the club from the top flight, several clubs are looking to sign Harry Maguire. Slutsky is hoping to use Kalas as his replacement.

Slutsky is close to Roman Abramovich and he would be hoping to exploit this in signing the youngster. Chelsea still have numerous defenders in Gary Cahill, Cesar Azpilicueta, and David Luiz. John Terry has left and there are reports that Kurt Zouma and Nathan Ake would go out on loan deals. However, with the Blues set to get more games next term, either players or just one could stay to provide depth to the squad. Ake is versatile as he can play defensive midfield and left back roles aside central defence. This is a thing Kalas is not known for.

Even if Conte wanted to retain a less profile figure, Andreas Christensen, who is also returning from a loan deal, is another player Kalas has to contend with. He had an impressive run in Germany, playing for Borussia Monchen. Kalas’ loan deal at Boro and Fulham is a boost to his CV but there are just too many people ahead for him to be considered.

Had Fulham been promoted to the top flight, Kalas would have probably remained as he flourished under Coach Slavisa Jokanovic. He could consider a move to Fulham where he could be sure of regular football otherwise Chelsea may cash in on the deal with Hull.
