Magath Claims He Would Pass On Neymar

Fulham boss Felix Magath has claimed that he would pass the opportunity to sign Brazilian superstar Neymar because he would rather have Thomas Müller in his team. Magath will be in charge of the Fulham team despite their relegation to the Championship after more than a decade in the Premier League. After becoming the third boss for the club last season, he failed to keep them in the Premier League. It was seen as an opportunity for owner Shahid Khan to sack him, but the American has decided to stick with Magath for the time being.

The London club are expected to be one of the big spenders in the Championship, as they target an immediate return to the Premier League. The presence of significant funds in the form of parachute payments will help them cope with the loss of significant revenue. Teams in the Championship received less than half of the team in many that clubs in the Premier League are used to getting. Even the bottom club of the Premier League last season received more than £ 60 million in television money.

Magath says that Müller will be a great fit in any team since he is tactically astute which is not the case with Neymar, who has a lot of talent at his disposal. "I like team players. Players like Neymar, where it’s all about the individual scoring goals... I don’t know. I probably wouldn’t even take him for free. If Neymar wins the World Cup with Brazil, then maybe I’d consider it," said the German manager. Magath also revealed that he would like to take German international goalkeeper Manuel Neuer to the Fulham team. The possibilities of such a transfer occurring in the near future, though, are almost impossible with Fulham in the Championship right now.
