CUP EXITS ARE GOOD SAYS DAVIES

Fulham have exited from both the FA Cup and the Europa league this season. However, Fulham midfielder Simon Davies has said that this is going to be beneficial for the club this season.

This is due to the fact that a club has to play a number of matches before achieving anything of significance in the Europa league.

In terms of the FA Cup, the midfielder has said that it is the competition that will distract most clubs from the objective at the table – making good progress in the domestic league. As a result of coming out of both competitions this season at pretty early stage, Simon Davies has said that the club should be focused on qualifying for Europe next season.

According to Simon Davies, there is a real opportunity for Fulham this season to qualify for the Europa league. Despite not being in the competition, it is something that Simon Davies appreciates a lot due to the European experience that it provides. Stoke city, Manchester City, and Manchester United are the three English teams left in the competition right now. Both the Manchester clubs are the favourites to progress to the next round of the Europa league, while Stoke city have lost to Valencia in the first leg encounter between the two clubs.

"We want to push on and get into the top half of the table with another couple of good results. We all know it'll be very hard still because they're all fighting for survival down the bottom, but they're games that we have got to be looking to go and take the initiative in," midfielder Simon Davies said ahead of the match with relegation strugglers QPR. Full are currently at the 12th position in the table, with 30 points on the board.
